...before I'm an ex-Land Rover owner. Five years on from buying our HSE we've decided on a change. Smaller, lighter but still good - we're getting a Yeti! December 2014 top-of-the-shop Laurin and Klement 2.0 DSG Diesel. Full leather, panoramic sun roof, park assist, xenon lights, all the goodies. Just 7,800 miles in its 18 months and one previous owner.

I had a 1.2TSi 6-speed manual as a hire car while I was on holiday and it was completely GUTLESS. I couldn't understand why it got such good reviews. The car itself isn't bad but I was constantly stirring the gears to get going. I'm sure with the 2.0 Diesel it'll be great, but for anyone else considering swapping muddy boots for a fur coat, avoid the petrol like the plague. |

The build quality, engine, gearbox, suspension, interior are very good. I just can't make my mind up about the looks. Mind you, I thought our current car (Evoque) looked absolutely ridiculous when I first saw one. Tastes change I suppose. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Brother in-law in Germany has a Touran 2013 2.0 litre diesel in manual, glass roof & everything else that sings & dances! it is very impressive.... The engine, but the car feels cheap. The 2.0 litre diesel tows a caravan at beyond suicidal speed! I would never drive like that! My niece also in Germany has a Roomster with glass roof, petrol & auto.

My 07 Passat Estate TDi140 DSG was off road for the best part of a month waiting for a new Mechatronic Unit (the DSG brain & valve housing). They make them up in Germany to order for each specific car ![]() Bob 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone) 08 FL2 TD4 SE Manual in Rimini Red (Now Gone) |

The Vw Auto Hold function is very handy for pulling away whilst towing, my Vw Tiguan 2 is way better then my old Freelander 2 was to drive and is way better built. |

The one thing I miss from the Passat is the Auto Hold. Worked well especially with the DSG. I did test drive a Tiguan but was uninspired to be frank although it has had good reports.

Yetis are nice cars and VAG build great Diesel engines, my last 2.0 Audi diesel was light years ahead of the FL2 unit. I don't think the OP will have much to worry about with the DSG , Coming from a LandRover to a VAG product I would imagine his chances of something going pear shaped have actually decreased.
