Hi, I'm looking to replace my D2 in the next few weeks,I've had a look at several F2's and have decided to settle for an Auto with mileage around 70K and FSH,
Now my question is, are there any major services or parts to be replaced that you would recommend are done earlier than the LR schedule
(could give me possible room for haggle)

The main one, I suppose, is the cam belt replacement. It's 150,000 miles or 10 years so nowhere near on mileage but could be due soonish depending on the age of your purchase. There are other items too. Look here to get an idea.

It is suggested on here that auto box oil and Haldex oil and filter are replaced more frequently. I have just had my Haldex serviced (@ 71k) and have just purchased some oil for the auto box.
