I think you will find a lot of large companies only insure Third Party. As already said cost of covering a large fleet fully comp is higher than what an average company would pay out for theft and damage.

Decades ago I saw a setup that filled armoured vehicles with very high speed expanding urethane foam with integrated wire expansing mesh. Effectively an instant solid interior, or in other words a tomb! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Previous car, someone smashed the window. I never leave anything in the car of any value. But they took the E-tag. I cancelled it & it was used one more time. But I could not get any pictures from Roads & Traffic of the car which used the cancelled tag even though I reported everything to police etc, a bl__dy joke! & they even charged me for the toll after it was cancelled. It was not worth the time & paperwork to argue over it.

If you have actual window tints installed it makes it a lot harder for a smash and grab! I've got actual LLumar security film on all my window.

If you report a car alarm in my area, the Police tell you to report it to the council as noise nuisance.. Rolling Eyes

On my D3, it was possible to disconnect the alarm sounder which made the alarm default to sounding the horn, is this something anyone has been able to do with a Freelander? Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018
