Headlight LHD to RHD conversion

Hi guys,

Can anyone let me know what is involved in converting LHD xenon headlights (new style with LED and signature strip) to RHD?
I've looked for an existing thread but couldn't see anything. I've read posts where it has been done but I haven't been able to find out what is actually involved.

Cheers!

It involves changing the lens Assy inside the headlight. Smile

I thought the op probably wanted them correctly converted not just for driving abroad!

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. I am looking for a permanent solution to turn EU spec xenon to UK spec. If there is an adjustment lever on the back, is there any need to actually do internal mods to the lens assembly? Does the lever adjustment achieve the same outcome? Sound like it does.
Thanks

I think if it did landrover would only produce one part no and I would not have needed to pay extra to have mine converted with different lens units.

You make a good point... Out of interest what have you been charged in the past for new lens units?

I bought my light units on eBay from a seller that had all manor of new landrover parts and he charged me an extra £40 to change them over and he kept the original removed parts. Very Happy

I suspect that's the case. In earlier, simpler days, some cars like Renault 4 and Bedford CF had lights that were fully convertible (my Bedford garage fitted a new light, adjusted to continental spec, and didn't understand what I was talking about when I pointed out that it dipped the wrong way!). So there would be no point in making/selling two different units if it were that simple. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.
