Anyone able to advise me re Batteries for a mobile CCTV unit

Hi
I have acquired a SearchCam 2000 VLS unit which is basically a CCTV camera with lighting on a telescopic pole used in disaster areas to search for victims etc. It has a motorised head unit allowing the operator to turn the camera sideways through 180 degrees and built in microphone and speakers to communicate with victims. A small colour CCTV monitor is fixed to the pole and the whole thing is operated by switches on a handgrip. It was a very expensive piece of kit in its day.
The whole shebang Is powered by a detachable battery pack.

The battery pack holds a charge but does not power up the unit (it powers up OK from a transformer) So I suspect I need a new battery. The pack is 12V 5Ah lead acid rechargeable which makes it quite heavy even though it has a belt clip. I have not been able to locate a direct replacement battery.

So my question

Would I be able to replace the lead acid battery pack with a more modern and lighter weight equivalent say LiIon? If so would I need to keep the rating at 5Ah?

Hope that makes sense and someone can answer - cheers Thumbs Up
