59 plate HSE - Sat Nav issue

Hello, I am advised (by my better half) that the factory fit sat nav is on the blink (I don't get to drive the vehicle much!). I have just taken it on a "test drive", the sat nav appeared to be recognizing the vehicle location whilst driving and then on occasions the map disappears and is replaced by a message stating "Unable to read data. Check if map DVD is correct". Has anyone had any similar issue with this factory fit sat nav. The FL2 is serviced annually (LR main dealer) and there have been no issues with electrics etc (no change of battery etc.).

many thanks

Paul

The disk is not being read either disk or reader is at fault.
Copied disks are prone to misread (not in your case)
Try a dvd cleaner kit
It is the cheapest 1st option

Joe Fix it until it's broke !

It may be worth running a laser cleaning disc through the head unit too but my money would be on the disc.
