Confused Washer Jets

I've just purchased a second hand 2010 Freelander 2.

After taking on a trip, the only major problem that I've got is that the washer jets seemed to be a bit confused.

When I press the windscreen washer button - water comes out of the rear washer.
When I pull the stick to activate the rear washer then the head lamp washers sprays.

When I turn the lights on and pull the stick then the front windscreen washer activates in two bursts.

Any ideas of the cause?

My guess is the wiring between the CJB and the relays are mixed up.

Thanks

the headlight washers should only operate when the lights are switched on (normally left first, then right, then left then right again) They will squirt when you push the end of stalk button to wash the front windscreen.

The rear washer should operate by pulling the same stalk towards you

Ya thats what I thought.

But the problem is that when I press the button at the end of the stalk the rear washer activates (but not the rear wipers).

When I pull the stalk towards me then both headlight washers activate.

When I pull press the button at the end of the stalk with the headlights on then the windscreen washers activate, but in two bursts.

My guess is something like:

CJB front washer ---> rear washer relay

CJB rear washer ----> head light relay

would the washers still operate with a faulty relay ?

is there wiring crossed or washer tubes crossed somewhere ?
