I gave the Act a good read before it came into force and have mentioned it within other topics before. Typically with cars (new one's at least), people will use the warranty because there is usually no hassle and arguing. As good as the new law is, there will still be arguments back and forth whereas a warranty effectively gives you almost a cast iron guarantee that they will repair or replace no questions asked (notwithstanding wear and tear). In my experience of new car warranties it has been just that.
