i hit one 4 years ago on the M42 at 4.30am, dashed out from the hard shoulder but luckily the next lane was empty and I could swerve or it could have been much worse.

Very lucky indeed , both you and the motorcyclist. We are on the outskirts of Halifax and I've seen up to ten Roe, 20 feet from the back door. Last year just down the valley two had to be shot by a farmer after being hit by cars. 40 or 50 lb of venison coming through your windscreen would be a pretty traumatic event: for the bike rider it does not bear thinking about. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Had one do it in front of me last year, Straight out of the undergrowth hit a biker who had just overtaken me, how he stayed on his bike I don't know but think he needed a change of pants! The deer flew about 10 feet landed on the verge then ran back across the road in front of me the way it had come. whole incident lasted less than 5 seconds. it would have done some damage if I had hit it. |

I hit a small kangaroo in Australia once, it just hopped over a hedge and appeared about 10 feet in front of me. Didn't see it coming and no chance of avoiding it. I gave a presentation to a group of people the next day and mentioned it and got a round of applause! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
