Is it speed related ie does the noise speed up and down when the car does? |

Might not be relevant to your case but last week an elderly (ie even older than me) neighbour dropped by and asked me if I had any idea about a squeeking/grinding noise when he turned left in his Audi A1 Y reg. I went and had a look and found that the discs were in a terrible state with big chunks of rust scraping against the calipers. He has had the car from new (16 years and about 80k miles) and never had the pads or discs changed! Surprisingly it had been MOT'd recently with no advisories. He now has new discs and pads.

not noticed the noise being speed related ?? and as I said its seems to be only turning left and not sure if you can feel it slightly through steering and footwell? new discs and pads in last 1500 miles. |
