Was filling the motor with fuel today, had to park on wrong side of pump and stretch the hose around, no problem was filling up nicely when a rough looking bruiser drove up and parked right behind me, stormed up to me and told me I had to shift as I was in the wrong bay, did I not know which side of my car the filler is?

Well thats a new one - I've seen plenty of peeps queueing to use the 'right' side, but never verbals, and I've spent plenty of time working on filling station forecourts in the last 20 years, including causing some souls complete confusion by barriering / turning off 'their usual' pump...

Many forecourts encourage using all bays with signs that they have longer hoses and will reach.

Slightly adrift here, what does everyone do if the space in front becomes vacant?

I find the best response to these morons is either to laugh out loud in a false hilarious manner or to just look straight through them as if they aren't there.

Me too; I thought it was a nice idea to move away from the pump for some time, but it must make it hellish confusing for the cashiers! |

What a berk. Funnily enough, a girl at work went to the petrol station and went to the 2nd pump because the front one was in use along with all the others so she had no choice.

pay at the pump is the way to go. until you get someone who drives up to a pay at pump then goes into the shop and spends ages picking out sandwiches and treats.

You're obviously not a real farmer, a real farmer would have a couple of empty 1000 litre IBC units hidden in the barn plus all the chemicals for stripping out the " Red" 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
