pump rage

Was filling the motor with fuel today, had to park on wrong side of pump and stretch the hose around, no problem was filling up nicely when a rough looking bruiser drove up and parked right behind me, stormed up to me and told me I had to shift as I was in the wrong bay, did I not know which side of my car the filler is?

I simply said ' unlike this hose, life is to short for this mate' he stood over me until I finished. moron! At work

Well thats a new one - I've seen plenty of peeps queueing to use the 'right' side, but never verbals, and I've spent plenty of time working on filling station forecourts in the last 20 years, including causing some souls complete confusion by barriering / turning off 'their usual' pump...

I might have been tempted to accidentally squeeze the trigger as I put the filler back if he was close enough.... But I think your response was better, if probably over his head!!! 2000 Xei 1.8 gone

Many forecourts encourage using all bays with signs that they have longer hoses and will reach.
Some people look for stuff to moan about.
People Using cell phones whilst filling (dangerous and annoying) for a random rant

I'm all confused now, what side do I park on to fill my motorbike Censored

agree with the others bad manners and rudeness are pervasive, lighting him up is one way to go, although speaking to him in words of more than 2 syllables would have probably left him reeling. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Slightly adrift here, what does everyone do if the space in front becomes vacant?

Do you move and then pay or stay put? I always stay put these days as I once moved and someone started filling up, by the time I got to the counter the bill was double, the pump hadn't reset, so now I just ignore everyone ang go in to pay.

I find the best response to these morons is either to laugh out loud in a false hilarious manner or to just look straight through them as if they aren't there.
Probably read about me having died from multiple stab wounds in the next few days, so best not rely on my advice Whistle

Me too; I thought it was a nice idea to move away from the pump for some time, but it must make it hellish confusing for the cashiers!

What a berk. Funnily enough, a girl at work went to the petrol station and went to the 2nd pump because the front one was in use along with all the others so she had no choice.

Whilst filling up, the car at the pump in front moves off once paid up. Some dickhead turns up behind her and lays into her about not going to the front pump! He ended up going to one of the other pumps which became free. Rolling Eyes LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

pay at the pump is the way to go. until you get someone who drives up to a pay at pump then goes into the shop and spends ages picking out sandwiches and treats.

or when the pay at pump whirrs and churns but doesnt deliver a vat receipt, so youve got to go into shop queue up with all the dorritto munchers and get a receipt At work

You're obviously not a real farmer, a real farmer would have a couple of empty 1000 litre IBC units hidden in the barn plus all the chemicals for stripping out the " Red" Very Happy 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
