Being Swedish my LR2 comes pre-wired with headlights on in every mode (except parking/sidelight mode) since it's supposed to always be on by our traffic laws.
Two things annoys me and I'd like to know if it's a Software fix or same for everyone everywhere;
1. I cannot turn on headlight with engine off (except temporarily through the keyfob)
2. Front foglights can only be turned on in combination with headlights (which is bad if driving slowly in heavy snowfall) I'd like to be operating them in combination with the side lights only.

So anyone know if this is a dealer fix or not possible at all?

your sidelight parking mode, can you say which side to have illuminated or are they both on
