Random beeps

Hi there,

Does anyone know why my Freelander has suddenly started to beep twice quite loudly when I unlock it. Only started today. Its not the quiet beeps u get when locking it. It's quite loud. Does it every time u unlock it.

Cheers
James

Common fault on the newer fl2. You have 2 choices, a hard reset which will work for a while or permanently. Or the dealer route of a system update as the car has lost some settings. I have had this fault along with many others.

Thanks for the info. Just out of interest how do u do the 'hard reset'? It's booked in for them to fix a rattle when it starts up, non functioning air con and a leaking high level brake light lol. I'll ring them and add it to the list Rolling Eyes

I believe you disconnect battery for a couple of minutes then touch the cables together briefly before reconnecting. Someone might want to elaborate on this as I am always too chicken to put the terminals together on a car under warranty.

Check your door seals as well before you drop the car off, bet they are peeling off where the a piller joins roof.

Ha, yes they are actually. Another thing to add. They'll need it for a week at this rate. They better not need to re book it in as I've had to wait 8 weeks for this appointment lol
