As I'm interested in the DVD in motion, just who could do this in the UK, do you know of anyone? And good work for all you've posted

Without exploring and taking advantage of opportunities that present to us, Cambo and I willing to invest time, effort, friendship, enjoyment, positive attitude and a willingness to share with fellow enthusiasts exciting breakthroughs, the opportunity to have these features may never be available! Unlocking the Video In Motion is not going to be possible with an IIDTool or Nanocom, only with SDD.

The CCF master files have to be manipulated to make these features available.

And to get the 4x4i screen up on the Freelander it appears that a customised software for the touchscreen needs to be made, which will not be available to IIDTool or Nanocom users. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

So..... if these files are hidden in the CCF and not enabled, or require a minor coding config change to enable them, ........ why are they not enabled on the FL2 ? (specific to model/customer specified)

I understand that where possible all manufacturers will use generic programming or generic wiring looms etc. to keep costs down, and only configure or connect the features according the model spec (S,GS,XS,HSE...)

But why are they burying the features this deep into the coding ?

Yes they use the same files for the evogue which can have dynamic suspension, all round cameras and so on, which the FL2 doesn't have and never could have, but by changing these files what will be the consequential effect on other systems ? for example by showing the 4x4 information and making it configurable will it affect the TR in any way ?

Personally I think that if its available then it should be accessible if the customer is willing to pay for it either by buying a higher spec model or by buying it as a factory option.

I cant see any manufacturer making TV/DVD on the move a payable option in any market. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Manufacturers keep production costs down by using same hardware across their model range. Some features are restricted to certain model purely for marketing reasons, ie product placement. For this example the HDD 2.1 IAM tousccreen is common between Freelander 2, Evoque, RRS, Disco 4, FFRR and DS.
It is possible to put surround camera into Freelander 2, all the fields are in the CCF, but you would have to add wiring and cameras.
This is possible because the Evoque has the identical electrical system to Freelander 2 and visa versa.
In respect to Terrain Response, again the system is the same and all the HDD/touchscreen system does is read the CAN signals for necessary information, ie steering angle sensor, Haldex module etc. Displaying the information in the touchscreen is no different to what it does already on the driver configuration TFT screen. Only thing new is that it will be displayed centrally on a large screen.
I think things will be clearer soon. Cambo's statement regarding software coding has more to do with, we've discovered, that The Freelander 2's touchscreen is more closely linked to the Discovery 4/RRS, not Evoque. We will expand on this soon in another topic. MY15
