Extended Warranty

Hi Guys been a while since I posted anything, but I have had my Freely 59plate MY10 ( on log book ) 3 yrs in May, when i bought it from Hunters Land Rover in Chester It came with a 12 month Warranty and for a mear £99 extra special at the time I extended it for a further 2 yrs with Inchcape. The odd things have been done under warranty with out any issues. So......................

I have had a letter from Inchcape telling me My warranty is about to expire and I can re new it before May so it continues for £464 or £46.40 over 10 months for 12 months, which I dont tink is to bad concidering other quotes I have seen and I retain the same level of cover Basicly same as Land Rover. The option to re new after after May is not there.

As I love my Freely and have decided to keep it another year at least ( usually my cars last 18 months to 2 yrs before they find a new home, says allot for the freelander Smile ) and the Rear Diff and Haldex are always at the back of my mind I think its a good deal. Cars just over 59K on the clock.

Any one think otherwise ? HSE TD4 Stornoway Grey ★ Rear Spoiler ★ Black Leather Interior ★ Panoramic Roof ★ Navigation with Bluetooth ★ 19 " Alloys ★ Alpine Stereo 10 Disc Auto changer and Ipod connection and lots of other nice toys ★

I have decided to keep current FL2 which is 3 years old (31k miles) next month. 3rd year service is free (2 services FOC) so I will buy LR warranty @ £595 or 10 x £59.50 and join Green Flag as LR assistance is £175!!! All FL2's (3) Gone

Is this a genuine LR warranty or is it a third party one? The LR one is fantastic and is generally no quibble. Have heard lots of horror stories about other warranty providers. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

Me too I am about to buy an extra year LR warranty, no qubble and LR Assist guys know the vehicles. My son had a warranty direct on an earlier Porsche and it was hard work getting them to pay up. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I was led to believe when I took it out to extend the 12mnth Land Rover warranty it was the same cover as land rovers under written by Inchcape who own the Hunters Land Rover Franchise I bought it from. I have had no issues with claims in the past from them. HSE TD4 Stornoway Grey ★ Rear Spoiler ★ Black Leather Interior ★ Panoramic Roof ★ Navigation with Bluetooth ★ 19 " Alloys ★ Alpine Stereo 10 Disc Auto changer and Ipod connection and lots of other nice toys ★

I can not offer any advise on the price but I am into the seventh year of our car and warranty. I extended for four extra years when we purchased the car new. At first I thought what a waste of money. Well after the last six months I'm glad I got.

I had two new fuel senders, a fuel pump, gauges and a few other items replaced under warranty. Plus I'm also waiting on approval for a rear door lock mechanism (fingers crossed)

Don't pass it up!

Ours is about to run out of warranty and I got the email offering the extended warranty which I was going to pass on until I read these comments. Looks like I'll be searching for £595 to pay for it this week.

We've used a breakdown and repair insurance from one of the famous breakdown companies.

Basically for about £160 a year they cover £500 per repair (with genuine OEM parts) and you can claim x5 times a year.

So provided you bet a repair from a breakdown is less than £500 it's good ... Smile

They must attend and it must be deemed broken down by them ... which does not mean un-driveable.

Depends how you look at it, its expensive if it doesnt go wrong and then youve basically chucked your money away.
You can have a nice holiday with 500 quid.

I have just signed up for another year of Full Extended Warranty with LR Assist. £950 for a 2011 with 70k miles Shocked Yes it's a lot and I could have put it to a replacement vehicle but I can't get excited about buying anything else at the moment.

After my history with LR I wouldn't feel comfortable owning one without full warranty. We have had a variety of problems with the family FL2s and none would constitute a "breakdown" but LR Assist have come to the house several times and arranged for everything to be sorted even when the problem was a broken wiper stalk. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
