So, its a bit like a Defender then, functional, but not great to drive - especially on road

There have apparently been a lot of issues with newer Jap pick ups.... think it was L200 or Navara...... where the chassis has split in 2 at the junction between load bed and cab.

Im guessing the chassis is one piece front to back but maybe with the load bed full the stresses are too much.

It's older Nissans, my son's girlfiend's father drives a recovery truck in Ireland and has seen several broken Navaras but only on quite old ones. Seems to be a mixture of rust plus overloading. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I went to B&Q in my son's 15 reg L200 last weekend. Apart from the ride being a bit bumpy on rough surfaces I was very impressed with it. Very quiet and well specified, I think these things have come a long way from the Defender type experience. The other thing is that you can get an awful lot of stuff in the back and you get more respect at the trade counter if you show up in something like this.
I agree it's not a family car though. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
