BMW brake problem - suggestions

Daughter was driving 1 series BMW car at app 25 MPH in traffic went to brake and pedal would not go down- managed to go into oncoming lane without hitting anyone and stopped via Handbrake
Started car and move it into a quiet road- again no brakes
Car was recovered to dealer who can find no fault.

If she had been on Motorway at 70 MPH would have been huge accident

Any suggestions / ideas - ? as not happy to take car back in case it happens again
Had car from new - now done 20k miles

I assume that the recovery people agreed that there was a problem? I just typed BMW series 1 brake failure into Google and got lots of hits. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

You don't say what year it is but BMW did a recall for faulty brakes on the 2006 1 series.

Someone here with a similar problem in 2008 http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=603795

A Google search pulled up several with servo problems mainly seem to be caused by a sticking valve. Mine, Saab convertible
Hers, MY08 GS auto

Years ago I used to tow a 1 tonne trailer with Fords - Sierras and mondeos.
They had an issue that the vac pump valves would stick/freeze.
No vac pump no brakes.
I wasn't the first in our company, three to my knowledge had serious damage when the brake pedal wouldn't move.

Took it to the local Ford dealer - no fault found, 2 miles later on way home, same fault.
Back next morning - got VERY mouthy, just to get me out of the place, the workshop manager agreed to go for a spin with me and the trailer, couple of miles later, red light at traffic lights, he tried to brake, pedal wouldn't move - hit car in front, OK not hard, but hard enough to need two new bumpers.
They changed the vac pump, great for another 70-80k then same again, but at least we knew what it was.

Changed fleet to Vauxhall soon after as each one came up for replacements. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

BMW are currently offering a free "vehicle enhancement" to certain 1 series models. Our 2014 car was done recently. We got a call out of the blue from the dealers asking us to book it in. I asked what the problem was and was told it was something to do with water getting into the brake pad panels (?).

Sounds to me like the One Way Valve for the Vacuum servo has failed resulting in a very Firm Brake Pedal there was a recall a while back by Bmw for this issue.
