Hello, is there a way to turn off the cabin lights? I mean aside from manually turning them off.

Here's the situation: I park somewhere at night. Turn off the engine. The cabin lights, set to come on when I open the doors or, apparently, turn off the engine, turn on for a few minutes before turning automatically turning off. It's uncomfortable to sit there for the world to see. And there are times when I go out to my car in the driveway to listen to some music and do a bit of neighborhood watching, but the damn lights foil my plans to be stealthy.

Is there a way to quickly turn off the lights with a push of a button or similar easy way? The only way I have been able to do it is by turning on the ignition and turning off my lights (i.e., setting to off not auto).

All thoughts are appreciated.

Theres only the switches on the lights to do that or maybe just have your windows blacked out if you really dont like people seeing what youre doing inside the car, or recline the seats right flat and lie down, or take the bulbs out, or take the fuse out, or fit window blinds?

You could always buy a good set of head phones to listen to the music instead of weirdly sitting in your car, you'll not only stop looking strange, you get a more in depth feel for the music than the car stereo can produce.

As for sitting in your car been nosy, why not buy a rocking chair and sit on the porch that way you can look like a hillbilly and the neighbours can see you been a good neighbour guarding the neighborhood, unless of course 'neighborhood watch' is a euphemisium for picking up ladies of the night and wasting money on the 20secs of light before she goes to work  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I see you got jokes. In hindsight, I really only have myself to blame for the setup of the circumstances under which I'd want the light to automatically go off faster than 20 seconds. I guess I'll just have to reach up and turn them off.

The one in the back is a pain, a metre long stick would reach it! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
