Approved used land rover

Can anyone tell me when the Approved Scheme started with the 2 years LR warranty on appropriate land Rovers.

I purchased my current FL2 end of July 2014. Dealer says NO but am sure it should have.

Awaiting call from Customer Services who are checking but thought i'd ask here. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Did you get a letter stating such? I did when I bought one a few months ago. Couldn't you just phone up Land Rover assist or any dealer, give them the registration number and ask if it is on cover? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

For what it's worth, my son and I both bought "Approved" Freelanders in April 2014. Both had one year warranty that we extended to two by paying the extra. However in April 2015 we were invited to renew our warranty as it was about to finish. When I called the dealer to ask what was going on they checked it out and said that LR had gone over to a new nationwide system in late 2014 and that LR couldn't access records before that and it was causing some confusion. I have made warranty claims since then with no problem. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Does anyone have any comments on the 165 multi-point inspection which is supposedly part of Approved Used? Mine was delivered with incorrect tyre pressures, a blown fuse and faulty wheel alignment. All fairly easy to put right, but it makes me wonder if there is anything more significant that hasn't been checked. I suppose it's a bit like a PDI on a new vehicle, which in my experience is done with varying degrees of thoroughness depending on how busy the dealer is at the time. (I once took delivery of a new Mazda with tyre pressures double what they should have been. On complaining to the dealer, I was told that they are set that way for shipping from Japan!)

My wheels were pointing in four different directions so I think it's fair to say they either don't check it or it's not part of the 165 points. Nor is the key missing a blade....

Mine had a twisted front near side brake hose.

I say the 165 point check is BS to give you a false sense of buying security, albeit they will fix anything after the event. But only if you notice it...

For a dealer the warranty is a win-win situation, you pay for the warranty and they get a commission then if there is a problem afterwards they get paid to fix it. Everyone wins! 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

just because tyre pressures etc are wrong doesn't always mean they have not been checked.

As dorsetfreelander says why fix anything at your own expense when you can leave the faults for the customer to find and get paid to do the work. Mine, Saab convertible
Hers, MY08 GS auto

Which, as I said, is absolute BS. The dealer should be penalised by LR for every fault that their pre-sale checks miss. It might make them do their job properly.
