Try driving on full lock in circle (in a carpark), and look at inside rear wheel, is it trying to spin every half a rotation or so??? If it isn't I'd suggest it's not actually the haldex and start looking at the splines on the front transfer box. www.bellengineering.co.uk

Not sure if this is the best thread to add to...there are so many judder threads!

One evening this week I had a vibration/judder from rear which felt like a left rear puncture. Dual carriageway and had to drive about 500 metres before I could pull over - juddering all the way and I assumed I would have cooked the tyre but the time I could stop. Surprised to see no puncture and nothing amiss (right rear wheel nuts were warm to the touch, but not excessive (rest were cold). Drove off and car was fine. Couple of hundred miles since then with no problem but it has done the same today with my wife driving it. Pulled over to phone me and report judder, but fine when she drove on.

Could this be a wire fault to the Haldex? A deeper Haldex issue? Or something else entirely (no diff noise to speak of, but car is at 87,000 miles). Both occasions were when the Car should have been primarily front-wheel drive and not when the Haldex was being called on to do anything dramatic. Haldex oil and filter change is on the (growing) list of things to do when we get better weather for lying under the car. It’s been in and out of GGS quite a bit recently with all the snow we’ve had and not shown any issues with that.

EDIT: car is a manual, so it’s not the auto box judder that others have reported. Not necessarily a low speed judder (started at 50, worse as I slowed). 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Had a very similar problem with my 2007 GS. It was the hand brake shoes sticking. Cleaned them up and this fixed the problem . Other members of the site have reported the same problem and cure
