Front diff problem?

Hello everybody, after a long research in the forum i can't find a solution to my problem.

I have a freelander 2 2.2 td4 SE year 2009.

Lately i was traveling at 120/140 kph on the highway and started hearing like a hum noise coming from the engine bay. I have checked and changed all the tyres, the brake pad's and discs are new. Also i have checked the bearings, and nothing out of spec.

Also i have connected an ODB scanner, and nothing found, no errors.

I feel the noise coming from under the central dash, and it will only appear when the car is traveling at high speed.

Some time ago i had a problem with the gearbox sticking the gears, but it was only one or two times, and never happened again.

Any ideas? Could it be the from diff failing?

Thanks,

Ariel

Just a thought
Mine failed, there was a bearing noise for a few thousand miles, then a bang, and noise went away. Unfortunately so did rear wheel drive. If you remove the prop shaft it will leave the front transfer box (& rear differential) running light. If noise goes away it's one of the three, prop, rear haldex/diff, front transfer box.
Good luck finding strange noises on a 4x4 Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
