I got the TD4 for the fuel savings, rego savings and for that low down torque which the TD4 has in huge amounts. In QLD the rego is about $200 cheaper for the TD4 than the i6 because it has 2 less cylinders.

I've come to enjoy the gentle rattle of the desiel and the great sucking sound it makes when the turbo gets going

I actually don't have mine at the moment as I took it in to Southside LR in Brisbane to get the software update to fix the intermittent non-start/trip-reset issue however when they did the update it became a permanent non-start issue.

The service manager was very good and they've given me a Volvo as a loan vehicle which is quite ok but I don't think it will go on the beach quite as well as the FL2.
