Has anyone fitted these to any car in their ownership or know anyone who has? From reading around online, I read positive reports but are they worth the cost and fitting over a good set of bulbs such as Osram nightbreakers?

People have done it to a car not originally fitted with them, but ive yet to hear if whether or not they fit the auto levelling function too, which they ought to have, or just fit and hope no one notices that bit isnt working?

I replaced my standard candle lamps on my FL2 with HID xenon headlamp units. Made a world of difference. I can categorically tell you as an MOT tester you do not have to have self levelling headlamps to pass the MOT test. What car are you thinking of fitting them on? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

FWIW, we also have a 57 plate Golf TDI Match as a second car and I just fitted a decent set of bulbs in it (can't remember which) when I bought it and I think they work fine in the dark, unlit lanes near us. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I fitted a set in my Rover75 tourer which is fitted with projecter headlights and made a vast difference probably better than my V8 ZT tourer that has factory fitted xenon! |

Have you driven the 1.6 FSi Doc? I found it pretty gutless-particularly on hills. I got rid of it after 6 months as it drove me mad. Other than that the Golf was a great little car. I have just blown my budget. I decided to get rid of the FL2 as it was 9 years old and we are potentially just about to undertake a cottage renovation. I needed a petrol something to cart the dog around in and ended up buying a Skoda Yeti 1.4TSi My thought was rather than buy too cheap, buy something reasonably uncomplicated so if it does go wrong it will be cheap to fix. I get it Friday so only time will tell if it was the wise choice. |
