Tailgate unlocking on its own

Sitting waiting to collect someone today and suddenly there's a clicking noise from the boot. Turns out the tailgate has got a mind of its own and is constantly unlocking the tailgate without me doing anything. Anyone got any idea's as to what might be causing this please?

Funnily enough mine did that today too - with the dog in the back, which could have been nasty!

It will be full of water and sticking. Just strip down and clean, or replace, both easy to do as described in the thread above.
