Hello people, time to seek advice from any of you who may be familiar with my problem. I have a 2006 se manual which I bought about 5 years ago turned out to be a clone and I had to pay twice for it, always check the stamped vin number on the chassis behind the spare wheel well and don't believe the one in the windscreen which can be faked. I have had over the years a loud clunking noise from the haldex coupling when moving slowly but only when steering is on lock left or right, it comes and goes over time I so have never resolved it. I have changed oil and filter, checked pump runs on start up and choke valve opens when connected to 12v battery. The oil pressure in the haldex is charged by the pump and drive is put to the diff ok till I turn the steering wheel then the big clunk, like the clutch plates are grinding, and the unit is siezing up, does anybody understand the correct function of the haldex, should the choke valve release any fluid pressure and release the clutch on steering or wheel spin? Already wasted money on a gen 3 unit which won;t talk to my ecu, I have a gen 4 unit fitted with a 2008 date on it but my car was registered in 2006 so it has been changed before, I have unplugged the pump for now to stop the clunking. Any suggestion would be welcome.
