Sounds to me like they didn't activate the correct field in the CCF.

There are actually three fields in the CCF related to DAB, but only one of them applies to the Freelander2, if they activated the wrong one, then you don't get DAB on the radio. The CCF has fields in it for Jags and other LR models, not everything applies to the particular car.

Which tool was used to make the CCF changes?

That fault code is probably the one related to the L-Band antenna, which is not connected. I can't remember the exact code off the top of my head, but it's normal to get a code for an antenna being open circuit, because it's not actually fitted. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

It seems quite hard to get the front facia from the midline without the head unit.
I have found a head unit from Jaguar XF at a reasonable price, but if it's not possible to get the front facia alone, it would be too expensive.

Do you have any suggestion on how to obtain the front facia panel?

Thank you to Cambo and other contributors to this thread. I've made the hardware mod to my 2009 Freelander 2 without problem (I think). The MOST bus is now linked through the DAB module, and the existing entertainment functions still work.

The detailed instructions here were so helpful, it's just a case of being brave with removing all the trim. I was fortunate that the DAB module which I bought from a well-known on-online auction site came with the connectors and tails, so linking the power and antenna cables was no problem.

... so now I come to the CCF change. I don't dare even ask the main dealer having just been badly stung for a service and oil leak diagnosis/fix. My favourite Indy were very willing, and they tried to use their Autologic system to make the change, but didn't have the expertise to know exactly what to do (or indeed if Autologic can do the job). They changed one setting, "High definition radio" I think, but it didn't do the trick.

So does anyone know of someone in South East UK who has the tools and expertise to change my CCF?

Got my Freelander HSE recently and the only thing I really wanted that was missing was DAB.

Looking at this brilliant write up i think I will give adding it a go.

Now just to cost up all the bits required and be brave enough to start pulling my car apart.

So I finally got my DAB receiver enabled. With the right equipment (Autologic in this case) and the right person operating it, only 10 minutes was needed to find the option and programme it. The DAB flash screen appeared as soon as the radio was turned on.

This mod was well worth doing. I've driven through country areas and the urban canyons of Croydon. The reception is solid, far better than I have on FM. The sound quality is noticeably better too.

PS. I have the LR007984 Mounting Bracket spare. I bought it before I'd stripped out the boot and found my car already had one. I don't want much for it if it will help you with your project.

I finally got my DAB+ retrofit to work in my car. Really satisfying since the dealer said it was not possible. It was all Thanks to Cambo's guide and also his helpfull tips on e-mail. Here are some pictures of the install.
