United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black
[SOLD] Detachable Towbar with brand New SwanNeck

Hi, I have a Freelander 2 Genuine Land Rover Detachable Brink Towbar

The Swanneck itself is BRAND NEW with lock and Key

Included is:
Tow Bar Main Bracket
Brand New Swan Neck
New Key for Lock
Storage Bag
Bolts
O/S Chassis Bracket
*PLEASE NOTE - There is no N/S Chassis Bracket (The big one that you need to remove the bumper to fit)

This is good for either spares or as a replacement for another towbar where the Chassis brackes are already in place or if you can get hold of a bracket from a breakers or something?

I was sold a fixed towbar with no N/S Bracket so had to buy this tow bar just for the bracket,

Luckily it wasnt anyone from this forum, it was from a guy on Preloved, not sure if he did it knowingly or not, but hey ho.. I should have done my research Whistle

I'm trying to be honest. it is what it is, a towbar without electrics of chassis brackets.

Looking for £60 ono

collection from either Ashbourne Derbyshire (DE6) way or Birmingham (B28) or somewhere to meet in between A38 area.

Any questions or better photos just ask.

Hi

Is this still available? I have a genuine LR swan neck fixed tow bar on my 07 FL2.. Do you know if the detachable parts will fit to the existing cross bar?

Hi Landy,

Sorry,
I only just saw your reply. I dont see why this wouldnt fit yours, it should just be a case of unbolting the swan from the fram and bolting on the gubbings from this one, I suppose you would also have to do something with the electrics, if they are attached to your fixed bar?

I think the actual bar that bolts to the chassis is the same and its just the necks that are different, I have a fixed and the swan neck one both in my garage at the minute, I'll have a look later and see if the main bars are the same..

Thanks,

Hi Browny

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes if you could check against the tow bars you have to see if the detachable parts will fit that will be most helpful.

Im up in Manchester but commute down to Coventry twice a week so I could collect around Birmingham way if its right.

Many Thanks

Hi Landy,
No worries,
Thinking about it, even if it was different, the chassis brackets are certainly the same, so worst cast you could swap the main bracket over, (6 bolts), so either way, it will fit yours..

but I'll have a look tonight anyway and let you know, I live in Derbyshire (Nr Ashbourne), but work in Birmingham, just down the road from Bham, so could collect at either. I drive to and from most week days. It would probably be easire to meet as you're on your way down or up if you can come that way.. We go through Buxton & past Chapel-en-le-frith to get to Manchester. If wouldnt be a million miles out of your way, or I could meet on a main route etc,.

Ill let yo know tonight/ first thing in the morning.

Thanks!

Hi Landy,
Both look the same to me.. so should be as simple as swapping the mount and moving the electrics.

Thanks,
