You should have a go.I did and loved it.Try Tong near to Bradford/Leeds,as they do a Pay and Play for about £30/£35.They have a route that you can do without any mods to your car.

Yes,because there is a route for road cars, and as long you are careful, there should be no problem. The best thing is that, you learn to use the Terrain Response and Hill Descent functions.Besides, you are only driving at about 5 mph.I really enjoyed my time there, and intend to go back.
Another thing that I learned was, that driving a manual, the car takes control, whereas, driving an auto, you have to have to use your brakes from time to time.

I have spent the last few weeks looking at the alternatives to the FL2 and agree with the above posts-nothing really comes close in terms of offroad ability. The Q3/Q5/X3/X5 cater for the masses though. Despite Land Rover's reputation, I suspect most FL2 owners do nothing more adventurous than drive over a deep pothole. Audi/BMW realise this and manufacture a car that handles well, is nicely finished and, when it snows, gets you home. The fact you see more Q3/Q5/X3/X5 than FL2's suggest they are producing a product the majority of people want.

Hence the Evoque and Discovery Sport and the much softer looking Discovery 5. But that's not what true LR fans want. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

A car for doing useful things.

I like to avoid misadventure in my motoring so don't do anything too adventurous. But I do like to use my Freely2 for doing useful things - so mine tows boats, trundles around in the muck and mire carting all manner of things about without drama. Its a great little workhorse and a great road car combined. On a recent run to load up with pasties I exchanged a friendly wave with the driver of a well used Disco1, then nodded appreciatively to an ancient Defender driver, passed two more Freely 2s, then in the car park I noticed a Freely 1 and another Defender and a Disco2. Not a sign of any "Premium" LR products - just loads of Landies which are owned and well used doing practical things. Lots of Nissan Cumquats however - I see Nissan sold over 60,000 Cumquats in the UK in 2015 - in the top 10. So although LR are gloating about their up market sales to posh people in 2015 - it should be born in mind that the Freely1 was the best selling 4 x 4 in Europe for 5 years after launch. What is the future for the brand when they as a matter of corporate strategy have abandoned the market for affordable, useful vehicles for doing useful things?

I went to tong a couple of time in 2008, not been since though

It was a good day out and the routes were well marked out for class of car and damage

I didn't get any damage, just lots of mud and stuff attached, the second time I went and I bent a set of side tubes from been round to oval sort of shape with a few ripples, that was user error going over some small mounds too quickly and the car bottomed out on the suspension

couple of albums in my gallery
