Speaker assistance.... 2007 GS

Hi All,

It seems the rear speakers in my trusty 2007 GS have run their course. There is distorted sound from the rear right speaker so might be time for a replacement.

Please can anyone tell me what size speakers in need?

If anyone has any diagrams on how to fit them that would be lovely!

Thanks all

Can't remember the size, a search on here from another post mentions they are 6.5" and 1" tweeter, best to take it out and measure it to be sure.

You'll need to remove the door card, which is easy to do, and unscrew the speaker.

Is your plan to fit an aftermarket speaker or replace with a land rover one? Your decision will determine whether you will need to buy new mounts, not that they're expensive.

Thanks Stowey - I was thinking of replacing them for something with a better quality sound, noting too crazy.

I will try and remove one the weekend and see how I get on.

Thank you

A good choice, exactly what I did when one of my front speakers went. I think I purchased Vauxhall mounts that halfords sold which fitted the speaker and car perfectly. If you do this, be careful not to over tighten the speaker to the mount as one cracked on me - didn't know my own brute strength.

You'll have to do some minor rewiring as your new speaker won't take the adapted currently used on the existing speakers.
