What the lotto dont want you to know

In March 2010, Toronto-based Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan announced that it was buying Camelot for £389m

Ontario Teachers' owns a substantial portfolio of infrastructure assets including: 100% of Bristol Airport and minority stakes in Birmingham Airport, Copenhagen Airport and Brussels Airport; the High Speed 1 rail line linking London with the Channel Tunnel; and international water and power utilities. Ontario Teachers' also owns Camelot Group PLC, which holds an exclusive licence to operate the U.K. National Lottery.

So does this mean that the majority of money paid into the UK lotto goes to the Canadian teachers pension fund ?

Is this why the ticket price doubled and then the odds of winning changed dramatically from one in 14 million too one in 45 million !!!!!!!!
Should we be boycotting the National Lotto ?
No wonder the UK economy is poor, shareholders sell out to any country for their own personnel greed. Jaguar x-type sport gone

Yawn if people can't be bothered to get news from 2010 it serves them right if they now feel cheated.
Personally, I put lotto tickets on, I buy raffle tickets, I couldn't care less who gets the money, I'm here once and I will enjoy my stay Thumbs Up

Google G7, then look at all the other countries on Earth and see if your argument that the economy is so poor stands up Thumbs Up

It's about time we all stood together and adopt the fact this is "our" planet and we are all in it together instead of bitching about what someone else has.

Rant over, as you were.

Unfortunately capitalism seems to dictate that building up and selling out is an answer.

The world is in Trillions of debt ... Who too?

Personally I don't like pension funds, I feel they are a way of financing the bankers and their lavish lifestyles, playing with our money and making a quick buck and we then get a (hopefully) small return.

Off Topic I also worry that the British public will want to leave Europe, we are stronger together, it needs someone with testicles to sort it out though.

Think I have my utopian (beer goggles) on this evening

You should never buy a lottery ticket except on the day of the draw as you have more chance of being run over or struck by lightning than winning the jackpot if you buy it earlier.

I get scratch cards but it's not very often I put a line on, it was ever since I got 4 numbers and got a lowly £28, perhaps it's because I'm a Scotsman but I was expecting a hefty sum. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Now there's a bandied cliche Rolling Eyes

Horse racing
Football coupons
Charity scratch cards

It's a bit of fun for those who choose, sadly a problem for those who over indulge and that brings me on to alcohol, far more of a tax on the poor than the lottery Thumbs Up

Define poor ...

I think it would be better to have no £1 wins etc, but a scratch card that you win, say £1000 or nothing
More chance of a win worth winning
It may only be enough for a good Censored up, but at least you would have more of a chance 👍👍👍👍 2008 xs

I don't know it it's still true but when Camelot started back in the 90's I worked for ICL, the computer company that did all of the IT for it at the time. A guy from Camelot told me that there was a clear correlation between lottery ticket sales and how socially deprived an area was. I guess it's pretty obvious that well off people have less need to improve their lot so they don't bother buying tickets. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I stopped doing the lottery as soon as they added the extra balls. The number of people that win actual cash is really quite small. This Saturday 1,995,542 people won the lottery but of those only 185,127 actually won any money - that's around 9%, therefore those with the free ticket for the next draw have only a 1 in 10 chance of winning cash even if they beat the odds of getting a win in the first place!!!

I always thought charity scratch cards were a con until one day in the early 90's when my mother won £1,000 on one at her local Asda - best 20p she ever spent! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
