It's not always stupidity though, Rog. If you've been flooded in the past sometimes it's just not possible to get the flood risk covered again. I suppose you can see the insurer's point of view - if the risk is clearly there and likely to happen again, would YOU allow another policy? It's either a straight "No" or a huge premium hike.

yeh maybe my remark was a bit too ambiguous, I understand that after previous flood claims certain people may not be able to get cover, or be able to sell their house to get out of the at risk area. Catch 22 !

there are going to be quite a few though who couldn't be bothered with contents insurance as they are renting or similar and its those who my comment was aimed at.

Makes you wonder how many of these cars stuck in the floods, I heard there was at least 6500 of them in the latest floods claiming for written off cars, how many will be just dried out and flogged off and then the next owners have a multitude of electrical problems arising in the future?
If theres a car for sale now and its last owner was in Lancashire say, it would make you think twice wouldnt it?

When my son bought his Mitsubishi L200 last month the salesman was making great play of the fact that they had got the contract for supplying the RNLI nationwide. Brilliant piece of PR for them I wonder if LR bid for the contract? (or what they could offer these days?) 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

We still use the Defender for flood rescue. The L200s are for our staff ( Life guards and managers etc ) Interesting to see what vehicle will replace the flood rescue landys.
