United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Izmir Blue
Coolant loss

Hi People,
For the 2nd time in 30K miles, the coolant level of my FL2 TD4 has fallen. Sad
As a result the dash board reports that coolant is low etc.

I will send to dealer for warranty repair as I did before. Very Happy

Has any one else experienced this?
Why does it fall?
Dealer said loose hose - but twice?

It's the only blot on an otherwise fantastic 30K miles. Very Happy

PK. Bye for now,
Paul

A colleague of mine has recently bought a FL2 and there was a hairline crack in the header tank.
May be worth checking.

PKYP,

I'm at 42k miles, motorway, urban, towing 100's of miles, off road, the lot .... I'vev never experienced a low coolant level warning.

That sounds very strange, I'm sure the 'techies' at your dealer will know this is very strange, keep the pressure on for them then to explain and fix the problem. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!
Company cars ... a thing of the past - May 2013.

Just an update for you all...
Lookers in Bishops Stortford, an offical Land Rover dealer found a leak in the thermostat manifold and exchanged it.
Hope this will cure the issue.

Also they serviced the car 30K miles for just £357! Smile

VERY GOOD!

Me too

I also got a Warning from the computer. I check the level. It was under the minimal level. I've added half a little of water. I took the car to the dealer but he did not found any leak.... strange! He told me to monitor the level regularly...... Wait and see.
