Hooter

Today I did 500Km trip and stopped at small town to by some cooldrinks. Got out of my FL2 and locked with the key fobs. When I pressed the lock button on the fobs the hooter went on, and when I let go the lock button the hooter stops.
Checked the car and found the drivers door not fully closed. Closed the door properly and the car locked as normal. This is an smart warning system to ensure that the doors are properly closed before locking and I like it. Thumbs Up

I like the system as well, but the first time it happens you think what the heck is wrong with it!

The system is very useful on my Porsche as it is very easy to accidentally open the front or rear trunk via the key Censored Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!

It also does this when the bonnet is slightly open. A good feature not well advertised! Freelander 2 TD4 HSE auto Tonga Green/Alpaca

Seems to work on the doors, tailgate and the bonnet, a very useful feature.

But like NP says can be a probelm when trying to arrive home quietly in the wee small hours Laughing Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

Pity it dos'nt work when the sunroof is left open Rolling Eyes With all the automatic and fancy functions the FL2 has, I would have liked the sun/moonroof to be rain sensitive and close automatically when a rain drop hits it. Likewise, when locking the car a warning TOOT if it is still open Whistle

More to the point - Why do they call them sunroofs in the UK? Rainroof might be a better name Rolling with laughter
However using this thread of thought its not too hard to imagine why LR have decided to call them Moonroof in Norway, as it is dark the whole day round for 6-months of the year Whistle 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
