I think you have to remove the existing trim. Some are stuck on with tape, some have fixings. There are some threads on here about replacing the trim. |

I like the fake ali trim, but it is all so drab without a splash of colour....

If you have a HSE then you should already have wood, aluminium or piano black trim. These are fitted with fixings behind them. The aluminium ones you're looking at fix over the top of existing with tape. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

How do the flowers fix in, do you need a water drain , what colours do they come in and are they self pruning type? |

Yep, mine came with piano black trim. Just think with everything black it would look nice with some alu trim.

As my interiror was too dark, I added the stick-on plastic 'alu look' trim.

Guys, does this mean there is a better version of these alu trims that would 'replace' my HSE piano black panels? I see these alu trim kits can cost as much as £350 from dealers, would these be the same stick on versions i am looking at? Seems pricey for a stick on kit. |

Sorry, only just spotted this otherwise I would have tried to help earlier. I fitted the alu trim kit to my Freely just after buying it. There was just too much black for me so I wanted to break it up a bit. All the parts in the kit stick on rather than replace anything. You clean the surfaces with the wipes supplied, warm it all with a hair dryer and stick it on. mine have never shown any signs of coming adrift in 3 years. There are two versions of the long piece across the top of the glove box included which, I assume, are to accommodate cars with just a moulded glove box door (like mine) or those with a extra trim piece added on. There's a picture of mine in my gallery if anyone's still interested. HTH Mark |

Yeah, Ive got a spare bit that covers the glove box [plastic Alu look], was about to bin it. Must be the bit that covers existing trim, as I fitted the other [didn't have trim]. Always wondered why there were two bits..... no doubt will still fit "with no trim" if you use sticky pads. So if anyone wants it, it's yours FOC ... just cover the postage. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:- Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip, Bluetooth Music Streaming Module. |
