HT leads? Did you try a motor factor? £121 for a set of HT leads seems a tad expensive.

Leads

Only the genuine ones seem to work ,the cheeper ones break down, its the position of the plugs, down at the back of the engine ,its the heat that affects them ,also the plug end of the lead is sprung loaded and if you pull them off it damages the end ,so not good at all

If it costs that much I can see folk scrapping the car for the sake of 4 plug leads?

Back in the day we use to make our own up. HT cable was available by length so we bought enough for the four cylinders and cut it to length. It had a dirty great copper core (won't break down too quickly) into which you screwed the plug cap. Trimmed back the insulation to clamp into the distributor cap. Job done.
I suppose things might have moved on (for the worse?) over the last 30 odd years.

We call ours Nelly lol ,due to part of its number plate ,its got a bit of rust but not to bad ,but without and doubt its probably the best car we have ever owned ,easy to park ,easy to drive ,brilliant heater ,never failed an mot,we use it for shopping during busy times ,put the back seats down and its got a huge area for godies,i take the dog out in it ,go up the skip and dump rubbish , so i hope Nelly keeps going for a lot more years, Bow down Bow down Bow down
