High level brake light issue

Found that my tailgate was leaking a few weeks ago and mentioned it to the LR dealer when it was in getting serviced. They said the high level brake light was cracked and would cost about £125 to replace. Wasn't covered under warranty.

Bought one new from Dan for £52 and fitted myself. Seemed dead easy.

However, I now seem to be getting washer fluid in the actual lens Sad

I have removed it and the washer hose and the hose itself is fine. It can only be connected one way thanks to the clips so I have no idea how it is getting into the lens, right where the hose goes.

Any ideas? All the threads I've read here are about the foam surround leaking which isn't the issue here.

Also is it possible to separate the lens to get the fluid out?

Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

Could it be a faulty unit I wonder? I had a brand new LR genuine high level light that was cracked around the washer nozzle, and thats how it was straight out of the packing, took it back for another.

Not sure to be honest and not sure how I could tell. The hole is too small to really inspect. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

On closer inspection of the one I took off, the hole where the hose goes through is open at the back so any fluid getting back down that channel would just leak into the lens.

Can anyone take a look at theirs to see if the little slit in the hose nozzle is facing down on theirs or up, spraying onto the little lip of the lens and spreading it out that way? Mine points down. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Did you order or swap over the teeny tiny 'o' ring?

I had 4 replacement high level lights under warranty due to water/washer fluid leaks. Turns out one dealer just never put the right 'o' rings back in again!

I couldn't tell you where this troublesome part fits, I just know it causes the problem haha! Sorry if this is no help whatsoever, but might show on a parts catalogue or from Dan himself. 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

I did not know there was an O ring nor have I see one, which would certainly make sense... FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Just found a photo of the washer part and there is indeed a washer in view. I went and looked at the broken lens I replaced and it too has traces of washer fluid in it. The boot was resprayed a while back and I wonder if they took it off and didn't check if it had come off before refitting. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
