Hi can anyone help with my question, I have a FL2 S, it is a 2008 and does not have the traction knob with 4 settings. It just has two switches.

A guy I know is an instructor at Land Rover Experience, he said that they used to have a couple of S spec cars without terrain response for training specific corporate customers, his opinion is that the car is plenty capable without TR. Even the 2 wheel drive version was apparently more capable than a lot of other manufacturers 4X4's |

My son does a lot of off road driving and has had an S and now a GS. He reckons that for practical purposes it makes little difference, the car is pretty good if just left to it's own devices. The TR is more of a "marketing concept" for the school run drivers. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

As the owner of an 'S' I can confirm that it is a very capable vehicle without the terrain response. I guess the question is what has prompted you to think you will need it?

Im some ways TR just annoys, activating hill descent when you dont need it etc, Make some differences on wet snowy roads but not crucial At work

TR is a great addition to the cars already incredible abilities but not worth the hassle or expense as a retro fit. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

Personally I wouldn't go for the S model as I prefer having steering wheel controls and front fog lights. I only used the TR a couple of times in snow and then it was just to have a play really as it didn't need the help. |
