Mapped properly, and like for like driving, almost everything will an improvement in economy. But you should never map for economy in the first place

had my 07 auto remapped 6 months ago had 3 options.
1 economy. 2. a general mix. 3. power tune.
I went for the mixed setting because of towing a twin axle caravan .
what a difference more power, torque and yes economy 4mpg better wether towing or solo.

I didn't know if the SD4 Auto would get much benefit but you lot reckon up to 4 mpg ? Better than nothing if you get a bit more torque as well.

Just a normal tune from Alive Tuning, around 185bhp. Could have got more power if I asked for it, but it's the wife's car, so not much point. It will likely receive a decat and big intercooler in the summer, which will see it close to 200bhp, which is more than enough for her

We got the car at 126k, it was remapped the same week. In 4k miles, there have been no adverse effects on the drivetrain, or clutch/DMF. And it's much more fun to drive now

There is no reason why an SD4 wouldn't see the same kind of fuel economy increases under the right driving conditions.

I am in the process of doing mine as we speak. I have sent my Superchips Bluefin back to Superchips to be re-configured from my old TD4 to my current SD4 Auto.

ALIVE Tuning is a very good option, but don't discount Superchip's Bluefin. Bluefin will allow you to re-install the standard map if you wish. Bluefin was excellent on my old FL2. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

When I remapped my Disco TD5 auto the result was not only more power and torque but an annoying effect on the autobox - it would change down much more readily on pressing the accelerator - due to the increase in torque I presume. A manual gearbox would have been better as I could have stayed in a higher gear.

When I remapped my BMW the autobox was fine. So just a warning about possible undesirable effects on the autobox on the SD4 . Jules

Another thumbs up here for Bluefin but im on a Td4

I've only had one car remapped that was a Nissan x trail at 113 bhp to 130 bhp plus, which made sense at the time for towing. It felt under powered but did make a big difference but with the SD4 I don't think it needs remapping. Your not going gain that much I wouldn't think. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green
