Bloody hell do your door mirrors open ok still? Last summer we got 25 degrees (rare occasion) and the plastic housings on my mirrors expanded and they struggled to open. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Mine said 46C in the shopping centre carpark the other day. It dropped to 40C when I was driving. That's out in Sydney's west. It's not even summer yet..... |

I was in the heat for about 3 hours and was fortunate to park the car under trees every time with nice solid shade. The mirrors went though about 4 cycles and again when I folded them for my garage, when I took the photo of the temperature. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device! I bought one of the better quality cheap sunscreens for about $10. If the price is right I would get one with a LR badge! Esky: Made this 20 litre esky for my last car out of foam containers and Aircell, with solid styrene sheet internally lined and removable for easy cleaning, covered in Autex carpet and plywood under carpet on top surface for solid working top. Average thickness 75mm. I made the esky to fit the previous car boot as I needed every last bit of space. I use the 8 or 10 tip rules for keeping ice longer (haven't tried using salt as the water I use for drinking etc) including having an officially titled EDO (Esky Door Opener), an extremely important job! 'Wife' holds door open while you get item (beer) out of esky as quick as possible! Wife closes esky door quickly to keep esky cold! Packed properly and judicious use of EDO the esky keeps ice for a week and cost me less than $10 with the least amount of loss of boot space.

We have just done a quick trip to Darwin from home in Victoria about 3500ks towing our camper with 3 overnight stops. On the last day travelling towards Katherine the ext temp sat on 40c for about 350 kilometres then cooled to 38 for the rest of the distance to Darwin .Drove at 110 kph no worries, temp gauge did not move from its normal position and the ac kept us comfortable at half fan speed . Return trip starts next week .

Yes I must say the air conditioning is first class in the Freelander 2. I don't think any vehicle I've owned or company vehicles come close to it!
