United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey
Heater Controls And Heated front Screen

Evening all.......

Silly question time, I have a 57 plate XS model.... It has heated seat element in passenger seat but not drivers seat. It has heated front screen as well. There is no button on the heater control panel for the heater seats or the heated front screen.
Am I missing something or is there another way to get the heated front screen to work?

Cheers for your replies

I thought the XS had 2 heated seats and screen as standard. seems very odd.
Was the XS around on 57 plates - wasnt it SE's then

The XS version went through a phase on the line where standard items were missing and not fitted due to a production line software error, i had one with the heated seats missing and ordinary ones fitted instead.
You might have a rogue incomplete car as i had, quite a few are around.

Yes I did notice and got a £600 refund and a mountain bike, without heated seat I might add. Rolling Eyes

In fact it was me, so they said that, drew LRs attention to the fact they were making them with bits missing having already sold loads beforehand.

If a standard car is ordered one doesnt expect to go around and check it has those standard parts fitted, how many folk check their car has a heated rear screen fitted before driving off?, if its a standard option you expect it to be on it.

The 2010 XS did, or should have had a heated front screen and heated electric front seats as standard.

You would only be classed as dumb if you didnt check the extras you paid extra for werent fitted I would think?

No offence taken..... I need to find out where the heated seat control unit should be and if it is there, I will just change the heater control panel for one with heated seats and heated front screen buttons.
With regards to topix..... I have not got a clue what that is.

Thanks for the replies gents

Module for heated seat is under the seat, it's the one with Volvo on it. Take a look at loom connector on driver seat and see if wiring for heated seat is there (grey wire and a white/green wire)

I have had a look under drivers seat and there is no module under it with Volvo written on it. On the loom plug on the seat itself, the bottom left hand plug is missing under the grey plug. That is looking from the back of the seat looking forwards.
