Has anyone actually tested the alarm? Is everyone under the same assumption that the alarm is the same sound as when you press the panic button on the remote (horn honking!)

The reason why I ask is that today i parked up and locked the car with 2 presses of the remote. Dont ask me why coz I have never done it before but just before the wing mirrors had fully closed in I tried the drivers door handle and it opened - with which i was greeted with a 'police siren' type sound I cancelled the alarm sound, shut the door and locked it and everything seemed okay again.

So, is the alarm a horn honk or a siren - any ideas?? Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Might press the panic button to see if its any different when the car comes back from the dealers  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thinking about it I'm sure I've tried the panic button before and it was the sound of the horn that I heard, I'll try again tomorrow just to check it. ______________________
