I disagree Jimmy, with the placing of non FL2 related things on facebook, a majority of member have similar interest and posting question, fact or jokes about other non FL2 related is what the Off Topic section is there for and why can't other let online friends/people know about the baby?

Take one of the members story how they came to buy a FL2, he bought a Audi, then they found out his wife was pregnant, luckly the Audi dealer messed up his order, he then bought a FL2 due to the pregnacy and associated baggage that comes with babies, and then when the little one was born was we just expected to say "so what, tell those that care on facebook" I personally would want to know the outcome Smile [forum members name withheld out of courtesy Very Happy ]

Obviously a off topic point maybe raised in a FL2 thread, and the thread goes off on a tangent, thats how the caravan dispute or what ever it is got going.

End ot the day thats my opinion Smile , and you are entitled to your Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Completely agree with AndyC and NPinks. The OP starterd a genuine topic on seatbelt fix, only to have his first reply with an anti-caravaner flame. Sad

I am truly bored of almost every topic having an anti-caravaner reply somewhere in it. Its dull, repetitive and just makes me want to go elsewhere. Start your own anti-caravan topic, get the repsonses, and then leave it be. You've made your point - you don't like caravans and caravaners. Done and dusted. Move On FFS.

And just be aware, it isn't caravaners or caravans itself that is the issue. Its old caravans being pulled by wheezy old Mondeos barely capable of towing themselves, let alone a caravan, that is the real bug bear of the road. Otherwise you might as well want to ban all freight trucks, vans (who are also limited to the same speed) AND TRACTORS!

I had my first caravan experience last month and was genuinely surprised how easy the FL2 towed it. Also, how much caravans have changed over the years in that the one we hired was really VERY comfortable and had all the facilities. So much so, that I would be happy to do it again next year - bearing in mind I am normally a 5* hotel man). Anyone who hasn't recently towed with their FL2 a new modern caravan and lived in it for a few days and experienced it first hand and can therefore make informed comment, ought to Shut The F~~K Up Censored

And then last week, I bought from eBay, a Trailer Tent for a fantastic bargain of £370, and towed it 100 miles to near Folkestone, without the FL2 even noticing it was there. Thumbs Up (Flyball event in a farmers field - every thought about doing that CG?)

The FL2 is a genuine tow-car.

Wow! Didn't realise that banter about caravans was getting to anyone.. It's just harmless fun!

Is it wrong to think that black is the best FL2 colour too? (It's not - it's Martinique Blue by the way! Laughing)

Forums are meant to be fun.. imho if all you want is basic facts without banter, write to LR Customer Services for your queries. Rolling Eyes

Edit : I've been caravaning myself and while I think they're great to camp in, they are crap to follow on windy roads.. especially when they are driven too fast in the rain and almost pull the car off the road going round corners! As per the one I saw the other day. I'm more of a tent man anyways.. stick it in the boot! 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

Well said Frobius Thumbs Up

And also an apology to those who do not see my van comments as I write them.. they are supposed to be jolly .. a bit repetitive maybe but jolly non the less Rolling Eyes.

I apologise to kblr2 if he feels I hijacked his thread but ,If you read what I wrote I was actually congratulating him for fixing his squeak, followed by a little joke.

I did notice that after I stopped posting in colour war threads some of my biggest critics tried to continue the war...make of that what you will Question

But I am far from the only 'off topic' poster on this forum so personal remarks aimed at me are not welcome. At work

I say carry on with the friendly banter Thumbs Up. Even if it does take over the thread you will usually find that the original question or query has been answered in the first few posts.

Lets keep the site friendly for one and all. ______________________

Hi All,

This topic was started by kblr2 with a statement offering good advice. It did not require any answers unlike a 'question ' topic. Any replies are simply a personal choice and if they contain humour and banter then I for one enjoy it and continue to read and re-visit.

If the topic starter asks a question we should at least answer it before going off topic, but if the answer ends with some humour, again, this extends my interest.

We all know who the 'humourous' members are and as its a public forum, if you dont like what people write, simply ignore it.

Personally, I am not a massive poster, but i do spend a lot of time on this forum because i enjoy it. Take away the enjoyment and it becomes a forum full of techies where people will only come if they have a problem.

As this is only my opinion, if you disagree.....ignore me Thumbs Up

kblr2 Thanks for letting us use one of your first forum post to vent our spleens Thumbs Up

God knows what you must be thinking Shocked

Like others have said, the site would be boring if it was just FL2 this and that

Banter within reason makes the site more fun, as long as its not direct personal attacks and the question gets answered job done, if we keep the forum friendly we will build up its numbers and be all powerful and mighty

The caravan saga has had its peak and did die down for a short while, but unfortunatly caravans will be discussed due to the FL2 been a great tow car, so they will be the stereotypical Censored caravan comments

If they don't get out of hand, Live with them, humour them, reply back if you wish but if they offend ignore or pm me, I'll break off from my busy day and have a look at it as you all know i don't spend much time on here Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I say we make CG go on a two week caravan holiday, with him as a passenger of course.
Just watching the miles flash by at a steady and neck whipping 30 mph all the while getting all clammy with trepidation at the thought of pulling out yer awning once to get to the camp site and set up the BBQ etc. Whistle

I bet within a few days he would be loving it, silently cursing the mad fools sitting on his tail honking and trying to get by.....
