Does anyone know if its possible to fit the later projection headlights to a 2007 standard headlights. I have been given a hid bulb kit but to be legal needs to be fitted to a projection headlight. Will I have a issue with the wiring plug or is it just a strait swap. Matford land rover dealer was next to no use even there technician didn't have a clue. They seam to only have unexperienced staff who have just left college.

The main dealers wouldnt get involved much with fitting substitute parts would they, they just look up on their database from the chassis number and say thats whats needed for that car
If you want HIDs why not fit a xenon unit from a 2007 car then you would know it would fit without problems and give the kit back?

Theres also a couple of different types of projection units as they have different bulbs for the main headlight depending whether they have DRLs or not, mines a H3B that doesnt have dip filaments the dipping is done by a shield inside the lamp, now whether that works with HID bulbs??
Also do HID bulbs run hotter than a halogen bulb, would it melt a bog standard halogen housing??

Probably not a simple straight swap you need to be really certain so you dont go wasting your money.

Got 2 hid lights off Ebay do they need programming or will they just work straight away.
The lights are fitted with a d1s bulb for dipped and a h7 for high beam might fit the xenon kit to these.
