I keep one of these in my boot, and another under the passenger seat, works very well at keeping condensation down.

You just need to have the A/C running and on recirculate, this will dehumidify the air. MY15

I never use the air con function to demist, always just select screen ventilation and put the fan on high, temperature about 20. This clears within 10 seconds. |

A dehumidifier is just an aircon in a box! In both air is blown over a cooling element, causing moisture from the air to condense onto the element. This moisture is then either collected or discarded (in the case of the FL via a pipe to the outside). So the aircon is, indeed, a very effective dehumidifier. On auto the FL will use both heating and aircon to provide both warmth and dehumidification at the same time.

I Also drive with my Air conditioning set to auto which seams to keep all my windows clear. When getting in the car on a cold morning I get a bit of condensation on the windscreen which quickly clears by pressing the windscreen mode which also triggers the rear window heater. If you get access condensation whilst Driving check your air con Drain under your vehicle as this should constantly drip water leaving a nice puddle to freeze in the winter.

my MY13 HSE auto demists on startup using the heated windscreen - according to LR - this is expected behaviour. So no buttons to push in the AM |

My Freelander has the heated windscreen button fitted but I don't have the heated windscreen fitted as the previous owner had the wrong replacement windscreen fitted Auto Glass.

Demist "Program" automatically switches on A/C and directs dehumidified air to screen and side windows. As it activates rear screen dentist it also activates wing mirror demisters. MY15

Not sure about the FL2 but on more expensive cars the air con system has a heater to dry it out once its not being used so the plenum chamber is dried out, on a cheaper air con systems where there is nothing to do that, any damp in it when you start up can come out and mist the screen up then you need to turn the air con on again to get rid of it? |
