One to get a debate going.

So i work at a shopping centre, the car park i use has angled spaces, you know where you're supposed to drive in and reverse out. Anyway i always arrive early to guarantee myself one of the 6 end spaces so i dont have to worry about finishing my shift to find i cant get back into the car because of some genius crossing the line. I also park as close to the pavement on the right as i can leaving plenty of space for the people who park on my left. So in the hour before i start i eat my breakfast and casualy watch iplayer and people watch. Ive gotten pretty good at spotting the idiots who pull forward or reverse in and then have to go the wrong way down the lane to leave. And the double spacers, who annoy the hell out of me when im on the late shift and trying to park.

So yesterday i witnessed a man driving around for a while trying to park. Eventually he got a space next to a double spacer. He went to his boot then casualy bent down by the double spacer. I could see him unscrew the valve caps and then i saw what i thought was a screwdriver used on the valve. He went around the car doing the same to all corners and walked off. I strolled over and could here the sound of air rushing out. It was coming from the valves whic he had loosened with a valve removal tool but you could see they were still there.

I suppose technically his actions are vandalism, you cant call it theft as nothing was taken. But even if the owner had a pump they would be stranded without the correct tool. As a considerate parker i thought this was a great example of street justice. Ive seen people deliberately slam doors on cars where someones parked to close many times and also saw one young guy run a key down a car as he reversed out after he had to climb in through the boot, both of these i dont agree with as your causing expensive damage. But i did laugh at the thought of this person having to call aa/rac for 4 deflated tyres.

Thoughts?

Inconsiderate parking is annoying and the perpetrator here has had a comeuppance. The bloke dishing out the revenge has committed criminal damage though. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I have better things to do than Censored about with someone's tyres if they park like a Censored

It maybe done to inconvenience the person, but that same person could have been dashing in to collect something for an emergency, or end up with 4 tyres damaged due to sitting on flat rubber

A note will have done just the job if he felt he really needed to react to his parking Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

^ That was my approach when there was some dodgy parking at work. I just left a note on the screen which read 'Learn how to park.' LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

We get idiots at work blocking our access entrance as we have a lot of building work going on. I had to call a recovery service twice to get these inconsiderate parkers moved. It makes my day when they return to find there car is moved down the road in the impound yard and they are left with a £25.00 towing bill. Whistle

I suppose upon return the driver must have thought they had been let down by car park security then?
Of course the driver could have been a heavily pregnant one legged mother on crutches who had great difficulty getting in and out her car?

Before my wife gave me her old freelander 2 I had a mitsubishi warrior pick up truck and nobody would want to park their car next to it! And if they did they would leave a big gap as I think they feared being hit by a muddy and battered pick up truck. At my local gym a guy in a Range rover would always park in two spaces until I started parking at the side of him still making sure I got very close to the tw@ 😋😄 Black FL2

Im not saying the guy was right in his actions. And yes there has been little thought given to the driver beyond they park like a Censored so il punish them. As said it amused me to see a form of action that will not likely cost the driver more than their time to rectify. Just as they have cost many people time by taking up two spaces for the sake of reducing the chance of damage to their car.

I think the punishment far outweighed the crime, imagine if you had come back to your car and some idiot had let your tyres down because they didn't like the way you had parked. As said previously, there was no way of knowing who the person was or if they had any impairment whether physical or not. A simple note would have done the trick and wouldn't have broken the law. The person who let the tyres down was another Ronnie Pickering in my eyes.

£25? I've called the council to remove inconsiderate parkers blocking our entrance and they get a £60 ticket followed by a £250 towing fee.

Of course the double spaced parker could have been forced to park over the line by previous parkers who parked carelessly, not something I would condone but it starts mayhem.

Has anyone ever watched Larry Davids "Curb your Enthusiasm"? (he wrote Seinfeld)he has a similar problem with double parkers (Pig Parker)....Hilarious.

Joe Fix it until it's broke !
