I guess I will start by telling my Land Rover story.

I presently have a Freelander 2 i6, 233 horsepower 3.2L automatic with the HST kit, I bought it used with 80ks on it, (for a really fair price, I know why now , fuel consumption 16l/100km )

It is my second Land Rover, I owned a Freelander 1 TD4 with the open roof, it was a great little truck, had it for over a year, not one single problem and it had over a 150Ks on it. a bit slow, but i should have never sold it, my little beast.

since then I have upgraded to my "new" Freelander 2, i have had to replace/ will have to replace...

the gas gauge, leaking petrol, not always a good thing.

Back and front Struts on boot, and bonnet

replacement driver side window, (I'm an idiot and locked BOTH set of keys inside, so I had to smash the window)

had a roof rack installed

had body work done , (because my wife, and the wife of the previous owner, well they both liked backing the Freelander into things; like trees, other car, and so on

multimedia center, (when i bought the Freelander the audio system had already been changed from the original to a Ken-wood, which was not so good, hard to use very complicated, so I replaced it with an Alpine with back up camera.) it did the math, the camera is much cheaper the replacing the bumper ever 6 months

and now my Freelander is park at the dealer, waiting for a quote on [ replacement rear shocks, new vacuum pump, fix shifter; (the button is broken and I can put it into reverse whilst driving 100km/h if I wanted to, but I'm pretty sure it would instantly explode the engine), replacement cover for my roof rack; (lost them somewhere ) and for good measure an oil/filter change and new whippers. ]

so my question is how much do you think it will cost? I'm thinking over 1500€ with parts and labour Freelander 1 2006 2L 112hP TD4 Manual:

I would really consider that 80K may not be genuine or the previous owner was perhaps a little on the rough and careless side relating to its usage. History suggests that  my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

You should have plenty in your budget to cover the details mentioned unless their labour rate is reficulous
Isn't there a decent independent near you that could do the jobs for half the price as they are not too technical - FL2 3.2 i6 - There is no Replacement for Displacement

If my wife ever sells my stuff for what I told her I paid for it, there will be some bargains out there!

found out the dealer who sold it to me used to tow giant speed boats that he raced on the Med.

that explains why the four shocks are toast,

and i also found out i have to change/fix/tape together......and i have only driven 10 000 kms since i bought it. btw

one leaking gas gagde.

replace gear shifter
the door struts front and back; (had the bonnet close on my head the other day)

what a lovely tale, one man and his beloved beast. Mine occasionally need things fixing big, small and/or expensive but I don't mind as I love her to bits.

The only other car I liked this much was my Alfa 159, a car of true beauty. I'd often just look at it in awe lol!

The only one I can help with is the gear shifter knob, it's a common problem, a new knob from Dan here is £28 delivered to France and takes 5 minutes to change.

I fixed mine myself, took 30 minutes and a old brake cylinder spring I found in my garage.
