Land Rover Assist courtesy car through Thrifty.

Hi All,
Car in on Tuesday for what looks like the Haldex replacement under warranty. They are also arranging a courtesy car through Thrifty.

My question is are all of these Land Rover/ Range Rovers as it's being arranged through Land Rover Assist.?

My Wife is hoping for an Ewok as she wants to have a go in one.

Thanks in advance of any replies.

Glyn Jones.

I had a thrifty loan car a few weeks ago when I called out LR assist with a problem. A very apologetic Indian gentleman called me to say how sorry he was for the breakdown etc and asked what sort of car would I prefer. He came back to me saying that at short notice I could have a 7 seater Defender of a Jaguar XF, I opted for the Jaguar as I had to make a couple of long trips. I guess you get either a Jag or LR depending on what's available.
The LR assist guy told me that all dealers were being provided with loan cars for breakdown use but when it came to the crunch my dealer hadn't got any. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

I got a 900cc Nissan Micra which was about as good as a Thrifty fart, who knows what they will give you. Shocked

Enterprise provided me with an Evoque Prestige and a Freelander 2 Dynamic when I called LR Assist.
According to LR Assist the loan car should be an equivalent or better vehicle than your own but sometimes you might be offered something else just to get you mobile again.

If your car is supplied by enterprise expect either a Vauxhall Zafira or a Hyundai ix35 as enterprise seams to have got rid of the Land rovers which is a shame.

Whistle You must be a star wars fan as you said your wife wants a ewok. Rolling with laughter

Enterprise gave me a manual Seat Leon 1.6 until they could provide a larger automatic as requested. That was a reasonably well specced Insignia and was delivered the following day - no JLR cars available and apparently not guaranteed but it was the best part of two years ago so that may have changed.

When my freelander went in once for repair Enterprise gave me a Range Rover Westminster. Very nice.

I had a problem with previous 5 month old SD a few years ago. There were complications with repair and I was due to drive from Scotland to Southampton as we were booked on 3 week cruise,
Enterprise had a Discovery 4 HSE waiting for me at dealers with arrangements to collect from hotel in Southampton, where we book overnight and cruise parking, and a Jaguar XF Premium sitting ready for our return journey.

Only downside was we had paid for 3 weeks parking. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Well they lent me a brand new (34 miles on the clock) Jaguar XE Sport.

Very nice. A couple of Bond themes playing on the radio into work made me feel like a secret agent rather than a DBA Rolling with laughter
