El Nino weather event - Uk bad winter

Not that I believe everything I hear about weather but this winter looks to be predicted as a bad one.....as bad as 1962/63 or 2010.

All down to this weather event which takes place every few years......El Nino

Maybe purchasing the FL2 a few weeks back might pay off Thumbs Up

The Express always over dramatise on anything topical in the news, I doubt it will be snow up to the top of the lamp posts, but hey Im retired now I dont need to go out in it anyway I can just stay in bed thinking Im glad Im not going out in the stuff, FL2 or not. Thumbs Up

That said back in 2010 when we had 16" of snow here my FL2 was the only car that could get around, there being a hill in both directions to get out of the village, everything else was stuck, they really do come into their own in the bad weather just as long as you have a good set of tyres on it.

Yeah, like the barbecue summer ....

It will however, be cold, windy and probably a bit wet at times with occasional snow especially in the north and on the hills. FL2 Ex D2, D3, RRS, etc. now all gone.

yeah I totally agree, most times they predict bad weather but I must admit reading the guardian, express and a few other websites it certainly looks more probable than normal.

Sydney 2010 down to 4.3°C overnight, 1962 4.9° & 1964 4.1°C. This year has been warm by comparison at 5.0°C

At the hot end of the spectrum we had 45.8°C in 2013 Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Yeah thats what im getting on the FL, but i hear a lot of people talking about winter tyres however my budget cant stretch to 5 GG AT and then a set of wheels with winter tyres on so im hoping the GG ATs do the job if it snows. 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black

Yawn

Usual Daily Express nonsense.

They've got no more idea of what the winter is going to be like than my 13 year old Labrador does.

Same story they run every year.

Gets them great publicity though. Shame it's for being utter twonks.....

Grabber AT2 and Grabber AT are good in all round conditions in my experience. Good grip in dry, wet and muddy conditions. They are good in the snow (stamped as M & S tyres) but you will skid if not careful and they will clog up with compacted snow.
However combined with the GGS setting on terrain response they almost unstoppable.

I think that seals the deal then, just need to get them bought and fitted......size of tyre is a pain but ive found someone local who can fit for 140 a wheel. 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black

United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Santorini Black

Oh dear not the Daily Express predicting extreme weather again lol. I don't read any paper but twice this year I got to a regular customers house who do read the Express & both times a Heatwave prediction was on the front page or inside cover & IIRC they said the same last winter.

Still I guess if it is true then I am due to be selling my Freelander in or around February so if we get heavy snow I get a better price!! Very Happy (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

got mine from a local indy garage near Mansfield that ive used for years for servicing and tyres. mine were standard 235/65/17 for the standard GS wheel.

cost me £112 a corner fully fitted.

another plus side is that you should get 40k + out of them before they need changing. Thumbs Up
