Headlight lens melted

Just had my nearside headlight assembly replaced under warranty as the lens had started to craze and appeared to have melted slightly, directly in line with the projector lens, anyone else experienced this? Dealer hadn't heard of it either. Halogen bulbs not xenon. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

My mate damaged both of his freelander projector lights by putting higher wattage halogen bulbs in. I think it was osram rally 80 watt which shouldn't of been used on the road anyway. Whistle
