Thinking of going away for a long weekend at the end of November but the wife is worried that we'll be mobbed by illegals while queuing for the tunnel on the way back! Anyone been there recently and can offer some advice? |

I've used the tunnel 6 times I think this year, and had no issues, last week being the latest trip. I've seen an increase in security in Calais, and once had an hours extra wait. You do see a lot of people around the trucks while they are queueing, but nothing around the car lanes.

I have booked Portsmouth/Santander for next March, back later in April. Avoids the Calais hassle entirely & saves some towing miles to southern Spain, although I will miss the convenience of the tunnel. Just the Bay of Biscay to contend with! 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)
